Minimum stay requirements: We require 2-4 minimum night stay, especially on special holidays or busy convention periods. We will consider some one night stays mid-week or for last minute (less than 5 days prior to arrival) on weekends. Just call: 773-235-1408 to inquire or they will appear on-line at our website as available for just one night. Cancellation policy: Our cancellation period is Noon, CST, 7 days prior to arrival for B&B guestrooms and 30 days prior to arrival for an apartment rental. If you have not cancelled at that time, you are responsible for the full amount of your stay. Bookings made after the deadline for cancellation are charged at the time of booking. One night bookings are non-refundable for any reason. No shows are charged the full invoice amount. One night bookings are an exception to our normal minimum stay requirement; one-night stays are charged at the time of booking and are non-refundable for any reason. This policy is strictly enforced. If you are uncertain about your health or the possibility of a last minute cancellation, you have the option to purchase trip insurance on-line when booking through this website. We highly recommend this option to assist you with recovering your losses due to a cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival. Refund policy: If you cancel before the cancellation deadline your credit card will not be charged. If you cancel after the deadline, you will be refunded all but one night (as a late penalty fee) even if we are able to re-book all of the nights cancelled. If we are able to re-book only a part of those nights, you will receive a partial refund for those we were able to re-book. For apartment rentals, the $300 non-refundable deposit is not refunded if you cancel for any reason. You may transfer your reservation to another available time period, if space is available with no penalty if you do so at least 30 days prior to your originally booked date of arrival. If you have checked in with us and need to leave early, please let us know asap, so we can open up the room and try to re-book it. We cannot refund you for early departures if we are not able to re-book them. No shows receive no refund. Check-in: Check in is by appointment, but preferred time is between 2 and 4 pm daily. If you are arriving earlier than 2 pm, we can arrange for early drop off of your luggage - your room will be ready after 4 pm as priority is given to those arriving between 2 and 4 pm. If you are arriving after 4 pm, please check with us to arrange a late check-in at least 3 days prior to arrival. We are early-to-bed and early-to rise innkeepers (to get those yummy freshly baked muffins made every morning) and we do not schedule check-ins after 9 pm. We understand that flights can be delayed, please keep us informed of any serious delays to your schedule while you are in transit, please. Check-out: Check-out is before 11 am daily. Keys and Garage Remotes: Guests are responsible for the safe return of all sets of house keys and/or garage remote (if used) at the time of check-out: 11 am daily. A $500 fee is charged for lost or non-returned keys and $100 fee for lost or non-returned garage remote. If keys are taken with you by mistake, you must call us to let us know that you will over-night the keys or remote via Fed-EX or a different overnight delivery service. Once the charge for non-return of keys or remote is charged to your card, it is non-refundable. Children and Age restrictions: You must be 21 to reserve a room and stay with us. Children, ages 10 and older, are welcome in any Bed and Breakfast guestroom, but are to be counted in the maximum occupancy of the room - see room descriptions. Children of any age are allowed in the Two Urns apartment rental (4 bed/3 bath unit) or in the Bucktown (3 bed/2 bath unit). A crib, high chair and/or baby monitor are available - just request them via email. Children, ages 10 and older, are permitted in the Wicker Park (3 bed/3 bath unit). Breakfast: We serve breakfast (reservations required) between the hours of 7 am and 10 am daily. We offer an "Early Bird" bag breakfast to go, if you need to leave before 7 am and a "Night Owl" breakfast basket left at your door if you wish to sleep in. We ask that we are notified no later than 9 pm the night before for the type of breakfast service you desire for the next day. Guests are to asked abide by the "No shirts, No shoes, No service" policy as at any restaurant. Although you may breakfast in your jammies at home, and although we want you to feel like you are "at home", we do ask that you are appropriately covered when you come to the breakfast table. Also, no cell phone use at the breakfast table. Please step outside or in the hallway if you need to make or take a call. We can accommodate guests with the following special dietary concerns: vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, nut-free, gluten-free, low cholesterol. We ask that you notify us no later than at the time of check-in of any dietary issues, so we can plan accordingly. Guests, who have extreme allergies or "shopping list" diets, (i.e. No green beans on Tuesdays, no raw onions etc.) are able to use the guest kitchen to prepare their special-needs' diets. Guest conduct: We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason. Guests are not allowed to bring any un-registered adults or children into guestrooms or apartment for overnight stay without registering them first. There is a $100 per person (adult or child) charge for bringing in un-registered guests to stay with you overnight. Guests are expected to be considerate of others and to be quiet after 10 pm. No disorderly conduct, inappropriate language, public drinking (on sidewalk), disruption of our neighbors, use of banned substances or carrying of concealed or un-concealed weapons is allowed while in residence. Guests are expected to register any vehicles parked on our property at the time of registration. Un-registered cars are subject to towing at guest's expense. It is unwise to leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle anywhere in Chicago. Management is not responsible for damage to or items stolen from your vehicle while you are in Chicago. Our B&B guests all have access to commonly shared kitchens and sitting/dining/living rooms. Unless you have rented an entire floor as an "apartment" rental, you will be sharing all common spaces on your floor with other guests in the adjacent guestrooms. Apartment rentals do not include breakfast. All guests are expected to be considerate and respectful while in residence with us and while using common areas of the B&B. Packages: You may have items shipped to yourself (Your name) c/o House of Two Urns, 1239 N. Greenview Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642-3318. We will hold these items for you at check-in. Please see note that follows about delayed packages or shipped items. Return of personal items: We will mail back items you have forgotten to take with you upon request. There is a minimum charge of $10.00 or the total cost of the postage and shipping (packing), whichever is higher. We do not, however, forward on to guests or third party addresses any items that were purchased and to be delivered before a guest has checked out, but did not arrive by the time of check-out at 11 am. As we are not the original shipper of those items, we cannot be responsible for handling or forwarding them to a new address. Packages or mail that is received after you have departed will be declined and/or returned to the original shipper. So please allow adequate time for shipping of items or use overnight service so that they arrive before you check-out. ADA: With our unique situation of having two separate owner-occupied buildings, each with five rooms or less, we are exempt from providing a fully compliant ADA room, however, we do try to accommodate guests with special needs. La Chambre des Amis is our guestroom most suited for guests with mobility, hearing or vision impairments, but none of our rooms are wheelchair accessible. We do ask that you talk with us about your individual needs before you book so we can help you select the most comfortable room.
