Policies
CANCELLATION POLICIES:
Cancellations for Bed and Breakfast Guests:
 | If you cancel by Noon (CST), one week
prior to your date of arrival you will receive a full refund. |
 | If you cancel after 12 Noon (CST) one week
prior to your arrival you will be charged a minimum of one night for late
cancellation |
 | you will be responsible for any additional nights cancelled unless we are
able to rebook them |
 | the one night fee for late cancellation is never refundable |
 | no shows are charged the full invoice amount |
 | one night bookings are non-refundable and payable at the time of booking;
if cancelled there is no refund for one night stays |
Cancellations for Apartment Rentals:
 | A $300 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of
renting an apartment - this may transfer to a change in dates but not if you
cancel out completely. |
 | If you cancel anytime up to 30 days prior to arrival you will not incur
additional fees |
 | Your credit card will be charged in full for the remaining balance 30
days prior to arrival |
 | After this time, if you cancel, the $300 is non-refundable and we will
refund any nights we are able to rebook for the balance of your reservation.. |
We make every effort to recoup as much as possible,
but cannot refund you until after the end date of your stay has occurred.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
 | Check-in is by appointment and it is preferred for guests to arrive
between 2 and 4 pm daily. We can accommodate early drop off of luggage
or later check-ins, but you must notify us at least 48 hours in advance.
We request that you plan your arrival no later than 9 pm. We understand
that often flights or other delays occur, please call us as soon as you know
that you will not be able to meet your scheduled check-in time. |
 | Check-out is daily before 11:00 am. We ask that you be prompt in
checking out. We provide an easy check out- all you have to do is drop
off keys and garage remote if you have one. All the paperwork is taken
care of at check-in. |
 | We can hold luggage for later pick-up in the day. Arrange for this
and a convenient time to pick up your luggage from your innkeeper at breakfast
on the day of your departure. You must drop off keys and luggage by
11:00 am. |
CHILDREN
 | Children under the
age of 10 are welcome in our Alcova guestroom only. |
 | Children are welcome, but are always to be counted in
your booking - we don't ignore them as guests, so if you don't list them as
part of your group you may be asked to leave at full penalty at check-in.

 | The Alcova is the only room available with a crib for
infants under the age of two. This is the ONLY room infants or children under
the age of 10 are allowed in, even if they are sleeping with their parent(s)
in the same bed. |
 | Children are to keep their feet off of furniture, no
jumping on beds, put toys and videotapes away at the end of their stay |
ETIQUETTE AT BREAKFAST
 | Shirts, shoes (or slippers) are required. |
 | Please do not come down in pajamas or bathrobes to breakfast |
 | NO cellphone calls at the breakfast table please! Please step
outside, in the staircase foyer or go to your guestroom to take or make phone
calls. |
 | Please be on time for your breakfast time. Guests who are more than
15 minutes late, may be asked to wait until there is another seating
available. |
HANDICAPPED ACCESS
 | There are no handicapped accessible guestrooms.
We do have some that have less stairs than others. Please ask
if mobility and stairs are an issue for someone in your family |
 | We do offer a portable hearing-impaired smoke alarm upon request |
PARKING
 | Some guestrooms are guaranteed parking, some you will be given a permit and
can park on
our block or on neighboring blocks without a permit. Please ask if you need off-street
parking so we can help you find the best room choice. |
 | Rooms that come with parking: Alcova, Cat, Porzellanzimmer, Superb Queen and
King. |
 | Apartment rentals include one garage parking space or 3 off-street parking
spaces; additional vehicles will be given a permit for parking on our street. |
 | There is a "Pay and Display" parking lot 1/4 block away between Division
Street and the inn (accessible one block west off of Bosworth Avenue) if you
have visitors, who are driving and need parking, or if you have additional
vehicles beyond what we accommodate. Rate is $1.25/hour with an 8
hour limit and is payable by credit card. |
PETS
 | Pets are not allowed in any of the guestrooms, apartments or common areas.
|
 | You may board your pet at our local Wicker
Pet while you stay with us. |
RESERVATION POLICIES:
 | You must be 21 to reserve a room. |
 | A valid credit card is required for reserving any room
or apartment. |
 | Your credit card will be charged in full: |
 | for one night bookings |
 | for the $300 apartment deposit at
the time of booking |
 | the balance due after the cancellation
period ends (7 days for guestrooms and 30 days for apartment rentals) |
 | If your card is declined, you will be notified by email and/or phone.
Valid credit card details must be provided immediately to ensure that we |
 | can continue to honor your reservation request if you card has been
declined for any reason. You will receive a confirmation email with
directions after your card has been charged within the 7 or 30 day period
respectively. |
 | If you wish to pay by personal or company check, payment must be received
at least 8 (B&B) or 31 (apartment) days prior to arrival |
 | If you wish to pay by cash on arrival, your credit card will be charged at
the appropriate due date and your cash payment will be 3% higher to
adjust for credit card fees. |
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
Management reserves right to refuse service and to charge in full for the
length of stay originally booked without refund for any of the following
reasons:
 | bringing unregistered guests into the room for overnight stay |
 | reserving a guestroom for adults only and bringing children under the age
of 10 into rooms other than the Alcova guestroom where children of any
age are allowed; children to be counted as a guest when booking a room.
Rate discounts, if any, are applied when the age of the child is given |
 | use of foul or inappropriate language |
 | use or possession of illegal drugs on or near premises |
 | use of any type of weapon or any illegal activity on or near premises |
 | disorderly conduct; being loud in the inn after 10 pm |
 | breaking the City of Chicago's Noise Ordinance by being loud outside after
11 pm |
 | smoking or use of incense in rooms or common areas |
 | excessive inebriation and/or public drinking |
