Wicker Park

One of Chicago's most exciting hip and historic  neighborhoods is home to artists, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, coffee houses, clubs and nightlife.

When visiting Wicker Park you can feel the history of Chicago in all its glory. A port of entry for generations of European immigrants; it preserves its charm with its grey stone mansions and Victorian 2 flats; eclectic boutiques and some of the best award-winning restaurants in the city.

Chicago is a city of neighborhoods, where ethnic and socio-political influences are reflected in the environment. A recent influx of higher-income residents and the proximity to "downtown" has transformed the neighborhood into one of the hottest real estate markets.

The House of Two Urns, one of Chicago's first urban inns, offers a home away from home during your stay in Chicago.  Close to public transportation and most of the attractions that this marvelous neighborhood has to offer.

Wicker Park Neighborhood

Wicker Park.   Walking.   Restaurants.  Entertainment.  Nightlife.  Art.

Wicker Park is a diverse, dynamic neighborhood having one of the largest working-artist populations in the country. The architecture is late nineteenth century, re-habbed with new development being widespread and has in the last few years made the top 10 list of "Hot Real Estate" neighborhoods in a Chicago Sun-Times' review. The community is a mix of nationalities, religions, income and ages. On the cutting edge, many of the shops and restaurants are unusual artisan-owned shops.  Unique coffeehouses, and yes, we too have been Starbucked.

Originally settled by Germans, but primarily  by Polish immigrants in the late 1800's, Milwaukee Avenue was once called "Polish Downtown". Polish is still heard on the streets and in some of the small Polish-owned delis or shops in the area.   Indulge in an afternoon at the newly renovated Division Street Russian and Turkish Bathhouse that has a european spa side for women and an outdoor cafe, 1916 W.
